Comeback of the traditional GP Ice Race in Zell am See!
After over 45 years the traditional GP Ice Race will take place on the 19th and 20th of January in Zell am See.
The traditional combination of car races and Skijöring will return with a lot of celebrities and high-quality motorsports. The spectators can watch current rally cars battling for victory and admire the traditional skijoring, where skiers can be pulled across the snow by high-speed vehicles
For a successful comeback, Vinzenz Greger and Ferdinand Porsche, joint founders of the Greger Porsche Classic Cars, support the motorized event. “We now want to bring this legendary event out of the slumber and ensure a contemporary new edition,” explains Vinzenz Greger
At the motorsport weekend amateur and professional racers, teams and manufacturers from different classes will compete against each other. In addition, the show includes rides by FIA long-distance World Champion Marc Lieb and Timo Bernhard. Prominent personalities such as rally ace Jochi Kleint, the promising young Austrian talent Julian Wagner, motorsport legend Hans-Joachim Stuck, Formula E driver Daniel Abt, who will present the Audi e-tron FE04 on the ice, and Audi driver Rene Rast will also be present.
There will be four categories overall at Motorsport Action in Zell am See; Buggies, current racing / rally cars, historic racing / rally cars and modern rally cars of the so-called class R5. Motor sports fans who want to experience this event up close can purchase two-day tickets online at www.gpicerace.com or day tickets at the box office.
“The tickets are affordable, many different vehicle classes go to the start and give both professionals and” hobbyists “the chance to participate in the competition,” promises “Stucki”, President of the German Motor Sport Federation e.V..
